I went out running one evening in Prospect Park. This was maybe a few days after server rain storm we had in NYC. While running, I noticed this great big old tree. Not underestimating the power of Natural, but I was shock to see a tree this big blown down. There were birds that flew back inside the tree on its branches and just chirped and chirped, as if they were wepping for this old spirit. It was saddening. I came back out the following morning with my camera. Then I noticed many of the trees that were down were all by the pathed roads and trails. I went back to the elder tree and looked at it roots. As I thought, all of its larger roots were gone. The roots were removed to the pathing of the cement paths and roads around the trees. This is why so many trees fall around residental and recreational area. Not Kool.
Tree will naturally grow and spread its roots and angle itself to maintain its balance, were it can withstand almost any kind of weather for many many years.
The removal of trees roots must stop.
Here are a some images that are more up lifting.
