The Story

Lightning, palm trees, resort lights, and a calm ocean share one tropical night along the Jamaican coast.

Reading the Frame

The visual palette moves through Deep blue, electric white, palm green, pool turquoise, warm beach light, and black ocean shadow. These colors and tonal relationships guide the eye through the composition and help establish the image's atmosphere.

The photograph balances weather and stillness. The storm is active in the distance, but the foreground remains ordered and calm, allowing danger, beauty, and hospitality to exist together.

Night photography asks me to observe light as an event. The lightning could not be controlled, so the image depended on patience, timing, and attention to the horizon.
